    Get to know Amanda

    Amanda was first introduced to line dancing in 2009, long before it was "trending"! Her friends taught her the Electric Slide at a rodeo dance and needless to say, she was hooked! She started learning new dances from YouTube and in 2010 she began teaching classes. Amanda took a hiatus from teaching for a few years when her children were young, then jumped back in in 2023. It was around this time that line dancing was becoming quite popular around the world so she and her friend Olivia Simpson decided to start up Grace & Grit Dance Co.

    They post demos and tutorials on their Grace & Grit Dance Co Facebook and Instagram accounts, where their following has grown substantially over the past 6 months.

    When she's not dancing, you can find Amanda on the farm she runs with her husband Kyle and 3 children, near Sidney. They raise Quarter Horses and Black Angus cattle. Her other passions include traveling, hunting, quadding, snowboarding, anything outdoors!

    Amanda teaches weekly lessons throughout the winter months in Sidney and Carberry. She also does private lessons/events.

    3. Beautiful As You" (32C, 4W, High Beg) [2025];

    He has also received 1st Place in the DanceHall Country Line Dance - Upper Level Division [2024], dancing Rachel McEnaney's "Drinkaby" & 3rd Place in the Social Bar Line-Dance Competition [2025], dancing Jonno Liberman's "The Wolf."

    Curtis' Line-Dance journey began in April of 2023 when he took his first line-dance class. He immediately fell in love with it - so much so, that he began instructing, developed his own choreographies, started competing & has never looked back since.

    Thatlinedancecowboy has also hosted numerous community events, including:

    • The Children's Hospital Foundation's Ice Crystal Gala "Rhinestone Rodeo" (September 2024);

He also helped organize the 2026 International Line-Dance FlashMob of 2026 held at the same places as the year prior.

    He even created a fun Video Series, entitled Line-Dance On Location, or LOL's, where he performed Line-Dances at various locations throughout the city/province, each pertaining to the name of the song or dance choreography (101 LOL Videos in total!). For example, his first LOL was "Dance Monkey", which was performed publicly in front of the Assiniboine Park Zoo. So much fun!

    Get to know Heather

    Line dancing began for Heather as a girls’ night out with friends from work and quickly grew into a lifelong passion. More than 30 years later, she loves it just as much as she did when she first started.

    She learned her first dances in a bar in London, Ontario, and was hooked. Heather went on to become a member of the award-winning Out of Line Dancers, a dance team founded by Peter Metelnick, himself. The team earned multiple awards competing in Canada and the
    United States. They also performed at numerous local events, including CCMA Awards Week and TNN’s Club Dance.
    Teaching Experience
    After relocating to Winnipeg in 1998, Heather continued line dancing socially and joined another dance team. She was later invited to teach at City Slickers, a local dance club, where she taught until the club closed in 2012. She has also taught through seniors’ active
    living programs and for the City of Winnipeg.
    To continue developing as both a dancer and instructor, she attends workshops throughout Canada and the United States and has completed Bronze Level certification with Max Perry and the International Line Dance Sport Federation, as well as United Country
    & Western Fundamentals A and B certificate programs.
    Country Couples Dance and Competition
    In 2004, she took a break from most of her line dance classes to focus on country couples dance, eventually partnering with her local instructor to continue teaching at City Slickers, Dancing Under the Canopy, and their own local classes.
    In 2010, Heather set a new goal: to learn all eight United Country Western Dance Association syllabus dances—Two Step, Waltz, Cha Cha, Night Club, Polka, Triple Two, East Coast Swing, and West Coast Swing. She began training with Keith Armbruster in Calgary and
    competed in couples Pro-Am from 2011 to 2015, including at two World Championships.
    Line Dance Winnipeg
    After stepping back for a time to focus on work and family responsibilities, Heather returned to line dancing around March 2022 and resumed teaching that September.

    In 2022, she started Line Dance Winnipeg, a private Facebook group created to help connect the local line dance community. More recently, she added Get in Line Dance Winnipeg, a public page where she can share dance information while keeping the group private. Everyone is invited to like and follow the page, and those looking for more active participation are welcone to join the group.

    Get to know Olivia

    Olivia was introduced to line dancing when she moved to Manitoba in 2010 by Amanda Van den Bussche. She slowly grew her line up of dances with her friends learning mostly from YouTube videos.

    She attended Amanda’s classes, and in 2024 decided to start teaching closer to home in Portage la Prairie while her kids are still young, thus beginning the journey of Grace & Grit Dance Co.

    Olivia continues to teach in Portage la Prairie, usually with a fall and winter session, and also does private events through Grace & Grit Dance Co.

    Get to know Tiffany

    Tiffany is very excited to share her passion & love for dance to the community! Her dance background includes Ukrainian dance for 14+ years, which included ballet-infused warm-ups from Royal Winnipeg Ballet dancers. She has since dabbled in jazz, ballet & contemporary dance as an adult, and has more recently discovered her love for line-dancing!

    She co-choreographed a sassy line-dance with Curtis Dooma (@thatlinedancecowboy) and successfully competed with it in the Calgary Line Dance competition of 2026. She's grateful to be able to do what she loves while witnessing new dancers light up when they learn a new dance on the dance floor - it brings her so much joy! Looking forward to more private events, instructor opportunities, and dancing with Curtis anywhere & everywhere she can!
